Problem and requirements
Repairs to the facings of the furnaces at MAN Gutehoffnungshütte AG meant that it was necessary to erect two 60m long halls. A further requirement was that it was necessary to be able to slide them away in 20m sections, to allow cranes to place the furnace elements into the halls from above, or to lift them and take them away.

Solution
The hall tents were assembled on rails to enable them to be slid away wholly or in sections. The movable sections were sealed with special soft beadings.
